Mutual Aid Weekly Distribution

Every Tuesday Grand Junction Mutual Aid volunteers transform a few hundred square feet of parking lot into a fully functional community center right in the heart of Grand Junction, Colorado. The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Grand Valley graciously provides us space to provide essential services to our neighbors and friends. This gives us the opportunity to provide assistance to anyone who needs it.

This event requires around 20 volunteer staff each week to pull off successfully. We are always on the lookout for more passionate individuals who want to get involved with Mutual Aid.

Some of the services we provide:

    • Free food pantry
    • Essentials (toiletries, soaps, sanitizers, and masks)
    • Hair cuts
    • Dog vaccinations
    • Dog and cat food
    • COVID vaccination sign-up
    • Much More!

What are the best times to volunteer?

Be at UU at 9AM for setup
You’ll be asked to lift boxes, tables, and other heavy items so come prepared to work!

    11AM SHIFT
You’ll be asked to assist participants in selecting food items and bagging them. This is a great way to contribute if you are only available for an hour or so.

Show up at 1PM to help us tear down and clean up the parking lot for the church. We are usually done by 2PM.
